Merry Christmas Everyone

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas (a little late). All is going well here. I haven't been this happy to be home in a long time. I finally feel over my jet lag now too. Anyway, here are some pictures from our recent snow day at work, on Friday. Definitely some good timing on that snow day, by mother nature.

Church

I honestly feel bad that I'm leaving my friends at church behind for the holidays. . . Some  of these people have spent 2-3 years away from their families in a foreign country studying and doing tons of research, and here I am going home to see mine again this year.

These are some of the nicest, and most devoted people I have ever met.

We rehearsed a play the other night about the birth of Christ, and I had to record my part as the narrator. Being narrator is pretty cool though. After we practiced on Saturday, everyone pitched in and helped me create a nice dinner. We had some salad to go with our linguine, that contained polish sausage and chicken, to go along with the other normal ingredients. It was a fun time hanging out in the church's dorm kitchen. The great thing about friends at church regardless of where they are in the world, is that they don't judge you like your other friends do, or so you hope. They love you for who you are and that is it.

Because of these fine people at church, 2012 has been one of my best years ever, and I hardly even got to do any traveling.

Little ones

A few more pictures of the little folks

                                               that's a cool sweatshirt kid
can't believe I teach kids this tiny
I wish these two slept every day
                                           one of my favorite kids

fun times before the day starts here and the next few

                                   super sensitive, but super sweet
                                       portrait from another one
                                    love letter from a student

I've been bad. . . .

very bad. . . about keeping folks updated here. . .

At the moment it's 12:46 am. I'm working on a photo slide show that's almost 12 minutes long for church, that I need to have delivered before I leave town. I just received news from one of our members that she obtained an internship in Australia, with a resume that I helped her create. Definitely makes me feel good to know that.

Things have been going well here otherwise. Tonight, South Korea just elected its first ever female President. I'm wondering how the older generations of men will feel about this tomorrow, but it should be thought of as a good thing for the country.

Due to the day being election day we had a rare hump day off work as well. Work is getting much tougher since our boss has acquired another business and so the Korean teachers are becoming even too busy to watch over our classrooms which hurts a little bit. We did get a CCTV system installed, so it looks as if people are watching the children on camera in the classrooms, but it is more like a scare tactic.

I'll be sure to get back on here sooner than later. .  Here are some pictures I've taken of kids, and friends from church as well.

local church in my neighborhood lit up at night
                                           Costco has TORTILLAS
Fritz, an Indonesian brother at church helping me cook
We have Ethiopia, Philippines, and Korea represented here

I'm getting lazy again

I have so many things on my mind, and so many things to do for church and work before I leave in the next eleven days.

Most important news of all (not really): I got tortillas at Costco on Saturday and sort of a free Costco card. They didn't charge me at all, so I hope the card works for the next few months. I got more tilapia, chicken breasts, and Kashii cereal as well. Cart driving at Costco is just as dangerous as car driving in this country.

Proud to see this
