Card machine

This little thing instantly spits out you card when you need a new one at the bank. Yeah, Koreans don't like waiting for things.
The white thing is of course the card machine.

This is very, very interesting.

A few more

Got the iCloud figured out quick. I got walk through a cool Sea Tunnel, see an outdoor sculpture park, see a replica of the famous turtle ship, meet new friends, and most importantly ride a cable car through a bunch of fog to the top of a mountain to see: a bunch of FOG!!

Some pictures from my Sunday journey

On Sunday I visited a little port city named Tongyeong. It is surrounded by many small islands, and has some beautiful mountainous areas as well. I also met some guys from Timor-Neste right before I came back home, who treated me to a beer. I'll add a few more later, since the rest are on the 'ole iCloud thingy.

-Neste is.

Teachers Day gifts

Wednesday here was teacher's day. I got a few not so manly gifts. Here they are. I did love the cards though. The day after I got a box of blueberry flavored Vitamin C chewables.

Adult bullying

Witnessed the strangest thing on the subway tonight. A few women were getting on, and as a young lady was sitting down, she was pushed away by a bigger, much older woman. Then as others prepared to sit by the this woman, she was slapping their phones out of their hands or pushed them away as well. Finally, she got off the subway, then proceeded on to an elevator, where she yelled at a lady and her kid. They hurriedly ran out, and I got on. I just gave the lady a "kind" stare down, just to let her know she had been watched the whole time, and made sure she left the place without harming anyone else, or herself. It's just really strange that in this culture not a single person intervenes, or tries to calm a situation down. They just think "oh that person must have some kind of problem", and go about their business.

Photos from the potluck lunch from this past Saturday

Super sweet Grace must have thought of the cake idea, since I told her didn't celebrate my birthday recently. My cooking is pictured there as well. Also, Sileshi, one of my best friends came. He's an Ethiopian. Super kind fella' too. We designed and colored some flags as well. I'm hiding behind the South Africa one actually.

A late, but very thoughtful birthday surprise

Yesterday I spent my morning preparing a few dishes for a little potluck lunch with a local volunteer group that I used to be real active with. I've spent a little time with a few of the members lately, and so they surprised me with a little birthday cake, built with choco pie - a korean snack. I ate half of one, and was also presented with a cool homemade deal too. I'll let the pictures do the explaining. Also looks like I'll be adding a few extra posts this coming week as well. Oops!
The little notes came inside the homemade envelope.

The things these kids wear.

Photos from the 21k hike

I did a hike by myself about a month ago, that was tough at the start and brutal going down at the end. In between was nice though. I covered a good 16k in 6 hours as opposed to the 7 hours the signage suggests. I had two nosebleeds, two glasses of rice wine, and a nice chat at the end with an older Korean man. Enjoy the pictures here. Peak to peak was 16k. Parking lot to parking lot was about 21k.

Pictures from Azalea Festival

And the WKU red towel is finally getting its due. I joined two foreign ladies and my jiu jitsu teammate Byung Tak for a nice little hike today.
