Bulgaria Trip Photos (part 3)

also known as Wednesday, August 1st. This just included a little walk around the city, visiting a few of the churches, catching a glance of the mosque, as well as the gorgeous synagogue.
Nevena and I ate at a really cool traditional restaurant as well. I'll upload a video or two from the restaurant's traditional Bulgarian program sometime soon.

This is from the National Theater
                                            Saint Nedelya Church
that beautiful Russian Orthodox church again
some items from the Ethnograph Museum
Sun and Moon are brother and sister -- interesting art
                                              Rakia -- Bulgarian Brandy
                                             very impressive synagogue
the inside is marvelous -- I was too hungry to go inside at that moment though
                                    St. Petka -- medieval church
St. George Rotunda -- goes back to the 4th century
Guards doing their thing at the President's offices
We sat at a park before dinner, and this dog sat nearby showing off for us

fried red pepper dish with cheese on the inside and a nice savory sauce

This is kind of like cornbread mash, I guess
Gotta have some wine with the meal
some 'taters along with some skewered meat and veggies
                                             entertainment for the evening
                                     These guys did very well
The guy holding the flag spent half the time watching the Olympics on a distant TV
                                        St. Sveta Church at midnight
Flower shop that was open really late
