Trek to the Gym

Yesterday, (Tuesday) I found one of our classroom assistants on facebook chat.  I asked him if he could do a search for a fitness club in Korean for me.  He found a place called Star Fitness. So after investigating a map in Korean (which is not as easy as it seems), I made my way out the door.  I think the workout was just the walk to the gym.  It was almost a two mile walk one way.  Walking through the snow in my workout shoes was not so easy, but somehow they stayed dry.

I explained to the man running the place that I was a teacher at the local university, and that I just needed a month membership (all in Korean).  He gladly took my money, gave me a card, and a key to my locker.  It felt really good to get in there and hit the weights.  I did a little cardio, but the big cardio was my round-trip journey to the place.  When I got back to the dorm room, my calves were not happy with me.  Since I had a bunch of free time to myself yesterday, I got in a few movies.  I didn't bring any books to read from the states, so I've got movies and some Korean language learning to keep me occupied for now.  Interestingly enough, I visited the book store in Daegu over the weekend and found something unavailable at the moment in the United States - The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is in paperback here.

Anyway, I watched Get Low, and The Town yesterday.  Get Low was awesome -- though I had already seen it with my mom once during the summer.  The Town didn't really excite me all that much though.  Any opinions on either movie?  Let me know what you think.

It's hump day, and I gotta get movin'.  Take care out there wherever you are and enjoy your week.
